Entries open for Crown Gospel Music Awards

Entries for the 3rd SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards are open, and gospel musicians from all walks of life are invited to enter.CROWN AWARDS 2010

This year, the awards feature 28 categories, including the prestigious Classic of all Times, Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Artist awards. The Awards are organised yearly by World Gospel PowerhouseT, a company established to assist performers and promote local gospel music.

They will be hosted in Durban at the ICC Arena on 21 November.

The categories are:

3.Best Accapella (Solo and Group)

6.Best Maskandi (Solo or Group)
7.Best DVD
8.Best Engineer
9.Best Gospel Artist

12.Best Traditional Gospel (Solo or Group)
13.Best R&B /Rap Gospel (Solo or Group)
14.Best Amazion (Solo or Group)
15. Best Gospel Music Video
16.Best song writer
17.Best Contemporary Album
18.Best Praise song
19.Best Worship song
20.Best Jazz (Solo or Group)
21.Classic of All Times
22.Best Gospel Producer
23.Best Gospel Song
24.Best Afrikaans Gospel (Solo or Group)
25.Best Church Choir (new)
26.The Best of Africa Gospel

    I FULLY AGREE WITH LAWRENCE, THIS TIME DR REBECCA MALOPE HAS TO BE NOMINATED CAUSE THE ALBUM “MY HERO” DIDNT GET AN AWARD BUT ITS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS, TRUTH BE TOLD BAZALWANE AND SECONDLY I DISAGREE WITH THE FACT THAT WEN SOMEONE GET A LIFETIME AWARD HE OR SHE DOESNT DESERVE ANOTHER AWARD NEXT TIME….     nomusa nginawe ku Sesi Veliswa… u know i so enjoy her music, and the spirit esikhona laphaya in her songs, u shud get uthando lujulile… very nice, with i am a winner… i so like the dvd and it got a preaching message after the erfomance, no artists has done that since the invention of gospel music… well done veliswa.. she deserves an award!!

    Anonymous, the way angibusisa ngayo u Sis Veliswa is unbelievable, kuma albums akhe ayikho engingenayo, she is my gospel star. Uthando Lujulile is also one of my best no Mfundisi laphaya ekugcineni uyashaya shame.     I think Abanqobi should take the Best Classic of all times, they realy minister the word of God and if you haven’t listened to their new CD or any of their music u are missing out. Their music is pure and uplifting. They are truly the be best accapella group

    I would like to play with “let the best win”. Really for best praise, it must be Thabile Myeni if she can be able to beat the sizzling hot Thobekile Mkhwanazi! She is sooooo bingo!!! Best praise song, O thembekile Jesu and Jesu oyanginakekela. She really deserves it. Oh, yeah the prince of Gospel is back with vigorous force…go Lundi! No doubt Rebz will still be the queen, coz Debz’s Uthando dasnt come any close to beating My hero. God bless Africa.
