Although you may not easily spot her in the International Pentecostal Church Choir (the I.P.C.C), those who have followed the gospel choir will certainly have many great musical stories to tell of the lead singer Emma Simelane.
After having been involved and leading the choir for many years, the talented Simelane has decided to leave I.P.C.C and pursue a solo career in music.
Simelane has been the leader of the choir for many years, pushing it through eighteen successful projects. With her irresistible voice, the I.P.C.C has become popularly known for offering inspiring and healing songs. It was partly the work of the lead singer that helped the I.P.C.C. become one of the best selling gospel choirs of all times.
Simelane, who joined the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in the ’80s, will be releasing a solo album which is titled ‘Ngiphakamise’. On the album, the talented vocalist promises gospel music lovers to expect uplifting hymns and worship songs.
Besides leaving the I.P.C.C, the singer has also left the International Pentecostal Holiness Church so that she can pursue her calling to help disadvantaged people. It is clear that helping the poor has been something Simelane wanted to pursue a while back but couldn’t fulfill the mandate as she had other commitments. Now that she has created space for other interests, the female artist will surely be involved in community upliftment projects while she continues spreading the holy word of God.
Even though Simelane served the I.P.C.C for a very long time and contributed to positioning the choir where it is today, we should all support her in her new musical journey. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

Iggy is a fruit.well Thendo we are speaking in terms of a choir particularly…the new DVD proved dat the choir is not coping without her…well she is talented and I believe dat in the church some people are still imitating her till today cos she is a brand and face of church music,,,we loved the choir cos of her,,,and the choir was not only loved the church only unlike the church which is adored by you church members,,,I love her and I I mean it,,the voice is a wonder,sho!

@Frans- Whilst I do not have a problem with the question that you have asked above, I also want to point out that Lerato.Polokwane is not wrong because this site is all about Artists and their achievements and/or performances. Emma’s issue is about her going solo in her very own album INGIPHAKAMISE. So all these other issues were brought up by people who exposed themselves unaware that they were. You wouldnt be asking the above question is people had not derailed from the topic. Let those who can explain to us the above explain it, but also let those who still want to acknowledge and congratulate the solo Artist also do that.
I personally like Ingiphakamise and a number of tracks in there are wonderful. Ingiphakamise, Ka Thapelo almost the entire album.

Everyone has a right to a religious choice. Mma Emma has done a wonderful thing by leaving IPHC as for her own reason. IPHC members, you church is not in music business but its business is to heal people and return people onto GOD. I know for sure that music is also part of healing but the last time when i visited your church i was so overwhelmed as i found no difference in your music and there are those people in there who sing even much better than Mma Emma. There were most people that i fell in love with their Voices just to mention few i could remember “Wandile, Tshepo Modise,Ntsoaki and many more”. Mmino ke wa Modimo, Bothle re ba Modimo- thus Mmino wa rona rothle wa fodisa for as long o tumisa Modimo
Mma Emma ke a mo rata ka lerato la bolekane ho bohle regardless of what church she follows but here are few things i could advise her on:
1. Never burn the bridges as you might need to return
2. Bad mouthing the Church is bad-mouthing GOD himself as the church is a spiritual home of GOD. In short, GOD resides in every church.
3. As a marketing director (myself) music could be marketed in so many ways without blackmailing your competitors.If bad-mouthing IPCC was a way of getting polls to your music, you have got it wrong as already you have lost IPHC members as your music supporters and those who like IPHC and its music.
Mma Emma, as a Gospel Singer and preacher, it is never too late to apologyse in public as you have told the public on your deeds and IPHC has never commented or entertained your speeches. Till you apologyse to the IPHC in public, i strongly believe that you may gain trust in Christian and also your fellow-church members believes that when you leaving your current church you will bad-mouth it as you have done to the IPHC and IPCC.
To my experience, the last year when i visited Silo i met about 38 orphans staying at SILO (IPHC Headquarters) and they have told me that the church granted them shelter, foods, clothes and they also empowering them educationally. So if really it was a matter of helping or giving to the community you could have just started there with that little group at IPHC.
TO RENDER A SERVICE TO PEOPLE UNKNOWN IS TO RENDER A SERVICE TO GOD.
MAKE UP YOUR MIND EMMA.. We need to live in a Loving and Caring Society as Christians…..

IPHC members, you should also stop commenting badly about Mma Emma as she is still a child of GOD as the bible “Love your neighbour as you love yourself”
Wishing and talking bad things about Mma Emma would actually not benefit you anything. The only thing you need to do now is to stick together and ensure that you groom the upcoming music artist (Can’t Get as you say) to help the Senior Choir.

I think we are blowing it out of proportion now. Do you know anything about Ngiphakamise or not? If you have never heard her new album, dont comment, if wa itse, then tell us your views. Going back and forth about her leaving church, coming back, cant get, cant do, cant whatever, is a waste of time. Emma knows iphc, ipcc more than most of us commenting here and for you Kgoshi, do you think you are better placed to tell ka di Orphan tsa iphc? Remember her 30 years in that ministry. As far as I remember, she has since apologised right on this site, and those cant this and that, accepted her apology. Why is it so difficult to let the woman rest, why is it so hard to accept that she is gone, why is it so hard to COMMENT about her album. Christians, are we really Ambassadors for Christ? Why re tshaba nnete and yet we want other people go dira ka nnete. Emma is gone, she is history in the iphc, ipcc gather yourselves and move on. Motso I agree with you when you say even the founder he critised the church where he comes from which is ZCC, but no one said anything about it, i can’t understand why people are so angry about mme Emma leaving church, you know what good people, batho ga ba direlwa kereke e irileng but kereke i diretswe batho am trying to show that every one has a choice to go to any church without any fear what other people they are going to say about the choice that has been made, and please let us not make other people the assests of the church as is going to make more problems like this one and people feel being betrayed.

well as a church with lot of people obviosly the talent would be there,,but this is a fact: the IPCC is popular for its two lead singers: Emma and Priscilla, well Im toking about the choir not church cos the choir and church as two different things..so Emma is also part of the brand and immidiately when she left its no longer the IPCC we love,,,and others who have been following the choir cos of Mama Priscilla wiould find their need of the choir,,however musically the choir will never be the same. its not a matter of talent but a matter of brans,,and really being a former member of the church I cannot deny that Emma is a talented woman,,and most of the singers in church have been imitating her singing cos she is the brand,,,and the woman can arrange joh! Surely Ausi Emma was a brand of IPCC, now that she left IPCC will no longer be the same but something else. The lady is talented jooo! I’ve gone through all the comments really u ppl ur crying for her in disguise. Many ppl left the church there was no comments or complaints jst bcoz they were just ordinary church members. You said earlier that you are not a member of iphc, so, arent you supposed to be quiet as well, I mean if non members are not supposed to comment what about you? You said you dont know Mme Emma, so, what are you talking about. Emma is talented, period. IPCC will never be the same without her, she was the brand and the face of IPHC. Do you have the dvd ya Ophakeme, do you notice any difference in there, come on Dineo. Dont be over protective for nothing. Dineo we also left the church ,well I better off now and I hope she Emma should be, thank. there is life outside of the church as well,just like inside.
