Popular pop singer Sharon Dee has gone gospel! Her producer, Sello Mbuyane says she is doing justice to the genre and her fans will be impressed by her upcoming gospel offering.
Mbuyane told a Sunday paper that Sharon’s switch to gospel comes naturally because she was raised in a religious family and sang gospel in her youth before joining Joyous Celebration – one of the most successful gospel groups in the country. He added that Sharon Dee, real name Sharon Dlamini, sees gospel as more suitable to her voice and style.
Sharon Dee, who is the former wife of Zimbabwean soccer star Peter Ndlovu, gained prominence in the late 90s with her single “Local is lekker”. The singer says she hopes to inspire people with her gospel album which will be released towards the end of September 2010.
Before releasing the album, Sharon Dee will share the stage with gospel heavyweights such as, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Tshepiso Motaung, Sfiso Ncwane, Dumi Mkokstad and Indumiso Gospel Group.
These gospel artists will perform at the Mapulaneng College of Education Multipurpose Centre in Bushbuckridge on September 4.

She was busy galavanting the streets of London running after her then hubby for over three years leaving a super career and a maltitute of fans high and dry. When it all started to hit rock bottom, Madlamini rocked up getting features here and there from other musicians. Whahaha…to ADD-

Sharon, sister in Christ, you need to snap out of it sis, u-Anynomous is right, go back to school or do some acting. We want to listen to people who have really given themselves to Christ, and are willing to give South african gospel music a face lift even if they come from other genres of music. I could listen to Tshidi of Maliaka, Queen Sesoko (who is now Born-Again, dedicated in the things of God as I heard and a fantastic musician who’s been through so much), well Nhlanhla Nciza would be great too, and maybe Khanyisile Mbawu (ofcourse, because she does need Christ in her life), I’m praying for her to receive salvation, shame.

Did you even READ the entire article? Maybe not. Let me cleare it up to you and all those who think we are here to make fun of Miss Dee. The article reads: “Sharon’s switch to gospel comes naturally because she comes from a religious family”, that’s a first fault for trying to convince us that she is a child of God. Why must she convert to gospel music because of her family backround? Does that prove ukuba she is a changed christian? What went wrong in the 1st place before she jumped to kwaito? Did she forget the God of her Cchildhood? Did she forget about the faith she had as a child? Ok let’s say she wanted to find herself, but now why make this about her backround? Maybe I’m overeacting, but, to my opinion, Sharon is playing us for fools. She started off with kwaito, then she was with Joyous Celebration, then she left the country for many years, and when things started falling apart she came back and featured here and there in other people’s albums, including Joyous Celebration again. Then she went back and did that flop of an afro-pop album, now again Dee wants to do gospel again? Haai bo, she is indeed confused to a maximum ability.
Secondly the article reads: “Sharon sees gospel as more suitable for her voice”. What nonsense is this? Is singing gospel a style? Or does it go with how beautiful your voice sounds in it? Hey dont be fooled and buy music because of the voice. Voice is not everything my man Nero. I am talking the anointing. Once you are an artist who sings gospel, you must have the anointed voice. If you miss out on the right music key notes, surely the anointing of the Holy Spirit will do the trick to heal or comfort your listeners. That’s what the likes of Benjamin Dube concerntrate on. Dube is not much of a screamer because the the anointing is in him. That man is gifted. His voice heals and comfort his listeners.
Remember Elle “sister-boss” of Muvhango? She also released an album last year. She made such headlines that we thought she was going to rock the industry. But obviously, she too had a big mouth. She also said she was doing gospel because her family was religious and that’s what they wanted of her from the beginning. Sorry boy but I do analyse these artists whenever they make interviews. I had to buy fake artists’ music. I hate to be caught unaware. I am christian who swore not tolet satan play me for a fool. The bible says the war is not of flesh and blood, but of the spirit. I wouldn’t want to dine with false prophets.
To me this Dee and Elle are the same cloth covered with blood.
If anyone is to worship God, it must be in truth and in spirit. So, coming from religious family does not guarantee that you are a child of God. You yourself must taste salvation and testify about God’s goodness. You must walk entirely that footsteps of Christ. You must bare in you the marks of Jesus and stand as living proof that the old is gone and the new has come.
How I wish all these artists of gospel could be screened so that they dont fool us. MAny people who sing gospel do need God.
If Sharon is legit, her music will say it all for her, not her backround. Let me remind you one thing, one who finds salvation today can go to heaven instead of the one who has experience. Finding God is a new thing everything. That’s why His glory is magnificent beyound our understanding.

Its high time we boycot singers like this, after living their own lives, relying on their strenght and wisdom, she didnt bother seeking guidance from the Lord, surely the Lord could have offered even more. Now that she is over and out she considers coming back to gospel.
